This senior citizen residence is situated at Siruvapuri. It’s a home away from home for senior citizens who are either single, widowed or lost kids etc. It provides home care, nutritious food and medical facilities for the senior citizens who are absorbed in. The home can accommodate 40 members in which 22 members are currently residing. The inmates are taken good care of, by taking them to weekly check-up, recreational activities and temple visits etc. They are also taken for tour once in a year. They are given counselling regularly. This greatly helps them to reduce their personal trauma. The organization also works on reintegrating the inmates with their family.
Infrastructure
Community Day Care Centre is an initiative to open up special schools for children with intellectual disability. Samarpana aims at establishing day care centres to create a family environment for the children with intellectual disability. These children are generally discarded in the society and are deprived of the love and basic education they have to get. The organization’s goal is to venture into communities, which will also create the awareness among the society, especially within parents to not put their disabled child in orphanages.
